Jeffrey Diamond is the leader of the firm’s transactional practice. He has had
extensive experience representing clients in a wide range of commercial and
residential real estate matters including retail, office and industrial space
leasing, sales and purchases, financing, development and construction. He has
represented the boards of numerous luxury and other cooperatives and
condominiums in New York City.
Mr. Diamond has acted as counsel to landlords and tenants in leasing
supermarkets, apparel stores, movie theaters and other retail locations, both in
urban street locations and in shopping centers and malls. He represented one of
the leading national clothing store chains in the lease of its flagship location
in Rockefeller Center. He has handled the sale of a retail chain of
approximately 120 stores, the financing of numerous properties in Manhattan and
elsewhere and the negotiation of construction contracts for a wide range of
projects.
Mr. Diamond graduated from Cornell University in 1974, obtaining a Bachelor of
Arts Degree with Distinction. He studied at the University of Cambridge in 1974
and 1975 and received his Juris Doctor degree from New York University in 1978.
Mr. Diamond is presently a member of the New York State Bar Association’s
Commercial Leasing Committee and the Cooperative and Condominium Committee and
the American Bar Association’s Ground Leasing Committee. He is also a member of
the Advisory Council of Ticor Title Guarantee Company, a subsidiary of Chicago
Title Insurance Company.
His interests outside of the office include sports, songwriting and playing
guitar, reading and generally expanding his knowledge of the world. He enjoys
the stimulating challenges that his legal practice present every day and the
many close relationships that he has developed with clients and others over the
years. |
